Hi everyone, I am a high school maths teacher with experience teaching year 7 to 12 (Standard, Advance and Ext- 1) in a private high school. I have also done IB workshops so able to teach AISL and AASL. I also have experience in helping students with general numeracy skills and getting Year 6 students ready for high school. I do one lesson a week usually (for about an hour) plus set up homework for the week based on what we do in the lesson. There is a support in place throughout the week and if they are struggling with the homework or have forgotten something they can drop me a message and I can schedule a quick zoom or phone call to help them out. It is just so they know that there is someone they can reach out to when not sure about something. I strongly believe that for maths consistency and regular consolidation is the key and students also need to work hard with me to see improvement. I try to motivate them to do the work and develop these healthy study habits by checking in regularly throughout the week and following up with them. That is why I put this structure in place to support them. As we approach closer to exam and assessments I provide practice tests and also help them with exam strategies to ensure they are well prepared for the exam as knowing the content is one thing and being able to show it in exam is another. It is important to expose them to different ways a question can be asked in.
