Tutoring for 7-10 Science, HSC Biology, Earth and Environmental Science and Investigating Science.

I am a high school Science teacher with experience in HSC Biology, Earth and Environmental Science and Investigating Science. As a qualified teacher I have an in depth understanding of assessment design and the marking process. I am able to recognise the needs of students and treat them as individuals who have their own experiences, challenges and goals. My focus is on helping them to achieve their personal best, regardless of what level that may be. 

I believe it is important for students to understand the significance of what they are learning by linking concepts to their own experiences and lives. This allows students to build a solid conceptual foundation that will enabling them to grasp increasingly complex ideas. Through the adaptive use of teaching and learning strategies, I have been able to assist students in achieving their best with a number of students achieving Band 5/6 results. 

Sessions can include the following learning opportunities, as requested:

• Review of challenging content
• Assessment task and marking criteria analysis to develop effective strategies for success
• Pre submission assessment task feedback
• Extend response writing practice and feedback
• Exam preparation, including exam technique, question analysis and practice exam marking
• Research backed study techniques and schedule development
