I’m Thomas and I am completed my Master’s in Biochemistry at University College, Oxford. Having been awarded a high 2:1 in my Preliminary Exams, with 1sts in Quantitative, Mechanistic and Cellular, and combining this with my experience as a tutor, I am well equipped with the skills needed to successfully tutor at any level, from GCSE to challenging entrance exams.

Through my own studies, I have developed an appreciation for the hard work and time commitment needed to succeed at the highest level, and as such, I approach my teaching from the perspective of the student.

I have been tutoring for many years, and the best way I have found to efficiently teach a large volume of content is to switch between questions, discussions, topic summaries and HW to complete in between lessons, which I mark and go through in the next session. I am passionate about ensuring each student has the best chance in their studies, so I spend many hours outside of the lesson designing student-specific lesson plans, marking HW and past papers, and looking through Personal Statement drafts.

Having got straight 9s at GCSE, straight A* s at A level, I know how important hard work is, and how to manage that sustainably. I hope all my experience and skills, alongside my outspoken and confident personality, make each lesson for the students fun, interesting and useful in improving their studies.
