My name is Anna and I am a Literacy Intervention teacher at a primary school.  I have a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood (Macquarie University- Sydney, Australia) and a Bachelor of Primary Education Studies ( Charles Sturt University, Bathurst NSW). 

My passion and expertise is in working with Year 1 and 2 children who are experiencing difficulties with Reading and Writing.  For the last ten years, I have been working with young students, providing them with literacy intervention.  I work with students who need additional support and individualised instruction in order to feel more successful with reading and writing.  

At the beginning of literacy intervention, most of my students have a very negative attitude towards reading, often commenting “I  can’t read!” This is because of the difficulties they’ve experienced in Kindy or Year 1.  My goal is to provide students with strategies to help them with their reading so they feel more confident and capable. 

For literacy intervention to be successful, it is ideal that the child receives lessons 3 to 4 times each week.  Each lesson should  not be more than 45 minutes.  If you think your child will benefit from this intervention, please feel free to contact me.  I would love to hear from you.
